Minutes for the Ordinary Meeting of April 8, 2016
Board Members

Approval of Minutes
A motion was made to approve the minutes dated March 3, 2016 by Liz West and seconded by Lorraine Kennedy.
RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting dated March 3, 2016 as presented to the Committee were approved.
Coaches Report
Head Coach Ellen Johnston was at YNational but send the following report. YNationals in Greensboro, NC is going well. Currently as far as team scores go in the fourth day leading into finals for tonight, the Women are 31st and the Men are 15th while the combined score is 18th. The Water Rats have been awarded to host SSI May 13-15th and the June 9/under on Thursday June 9th. The summer practice schedule will go out soon. Long course meet schedule will be published soon too. Registration for the team has been steadily increasing too with inquiries for all levels of swimmers. The Y will host a Westport Town Swim Meet in late July or early August. The intent is to offer residents the opportunity to swim and race in a fun event here at the Y. The staff is very enthusiastic and more details will follow.
Meet Manager’s Report
Everything is under control and planning is beginning for SSI. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for officials.
Officials Report
Lorraine Kennedy reports that we are all set with officials for the meet. Some parents are currently training.
Pet WRAT Report
Candace reports that she will send an update to families that are in need of points during Long Course and to make sure all accounts are up to date
USA Swimming Manager’s Report
Adrienne Williams reported that there are four families overdrawn on escrow but there is no concern that the accounts will be updated shortly. All meets have been billed and swim cap detail is recorded too.
Treasurer’s Report
Martha mentioned John Meehan could not attend but she presented the financials. The Pentathlon was highly successful, and better than expected and the records are up to date. John is waiting for further detail from YNATS.
Parent Representative’s Report
Sari discussed the decorations that she is working on with Eileen Brown and the trophies that were ordered by Berkeley Murray. The event should be very successful. Andy McNab discussed the slide show and audio visual requirements.
Co-President’s Report
Sylvie Ortega discussed the survey she has been designing. She will send to all Board members initially before the overall Club. Martha Corneck discussed the addition of language to the Bylaws to include a Student Representative to the Board.
A motion was made by Martha Corneck to approve the Bylaws to include language for a Student Representative and seconded by Lorraine Kennedy.
RESOLVED that to include language for a Student Representative to the Bylaws and Board as presented to the Committee were approved.
All Other Business: Adrienne Johnston and the members of the Nominating Committee have been reaching out to the Club to fill positions next year. Nearly all Board positions and Committee chairs are filled.
Sylvia Ortega moved to adjourn meeting, and March Corneck seconded, all voted in favor. The next meeting is slated May 5, 2016.
