Minutes for the Board Meeting of March 6, 2014
Attendees

Approval of Minutes
Kathy Santarella moved to approve February 6, 2014 minutes. Chris Gannon seconded. Approved unanimously.
PET-WRAT Report
Liz West said there remain approximately 70 families that have none to very little PET Wrat points. She said she would reach out once again to encourage them to volunteer during Long Course.
USA Swimming Manager’s Report
Chris Gannon reported that she is awaiting meet entries from coaches in order to determine USA Swimming balances.
Parent Representatives’ Reports
Whitney Lenoce had nothing to report, but asked when LC practice schedule would be available. As well, parents were looking for LC meet schedule as soon as possible. After championships, this information should become readily available.
Meet Chair Report
Catherine Cunningham had nothing new to report. She noted that we are planning for Senior Spring Invitational on May 16-18. We will be enlisting a parent(s) for refreshments and/or volunteer sign-in.
Coaches’ Report
Andy McNab gave Ellen Johnston report: We are seeking outside Meet Referees for Senior Spring Invitational, as our team has otherwise committed parents. Looking to confirm referees by end of month. The 10 & Under meet is scheduled for June 19, as final swim meet at WWFY downtown. Coaches will be meeting to discuss practice group changes. Team Unify will shortly allow parents to opt-in/or out a child for spring/summer season. Given the busy time at end of year and then summer activities like camp/work, we were not sure how a team outing to Sound Tigers at Harbor Yards would be possible. For now concentrating on championships.
We do expect to run an Administration Officials Clinic in September. We will post a job description on-line and clinic information online. Meanwhile, officials chair will look to recruit good prospects for this new, but key officials role.
Treasurers’ Report
Nicky Wisher noted we are waiting on checks from the Q Meet and the Pentathlon. We should be able to report on details next month. Goodie Bags are being ordered. We are expecting to send 9 and possibly 15 to Y Nationals this year. Pancake breakfast is still tentative for May 3rd.
Co-Presidents’ Report
Andy McNab noted:
Recognition Night – is set for April 25, 2014 by Age Group reps.
Age Group Dryland Equipment – remains on-hold as no details provided.
Planning & Evaluation – Adrienne proposed in our January monthly meeting that we review and update the Water Wrats Parent Club Team Handbook especially in regard to the Parent and Swimmer Code of Conduct(s) and guidelines from USA Swimming regarding Safe Sport. Andy proposed that we now discuss or vote to accept. Kathy Santarella moved that we accept changes to Handbook and Lisa Krakoff seconded. All voted in favor to adopt changes to Parent and Swimmer Code of Conduct(s) and our modified Safe Sport guidelines.
Adjournment – moved by Lisa Krakoff; seconded by Andy McNab; and voted in favor by all.
